Feng WU jointed the Department of Environmental Science at Wuhan University (WHU, CHINA) in 1998 and received his Ph. D. in Environmental Science in 2003 from WHU. He became an associate professor in 2003, qualified as the supervisor of doctoral student in 2007 and promoted to professor in 2009. He has been engaged in the researches of environmental photochemistry with emphasis on: (1) photochemical cycling of transition metals such as Fe and Cu, and its environmental effects; (2) arsenic speciation and species transformation during photochemical reactions; (3) hydroxyl radical or oxysulfur radical based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) for water/wastewater treatment. He has been the PI of 8 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and got more than 150 papers published in the international peer-reviewed journals and 16 Chinese authorized patents.

Jaesang Lee currently serves as an associate professor in the School of Architectural, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Korea University (South Korea).

Prior to joining the faculty at Korea University in 2014, he was a senior researcher at Center for Water Resources Recycle Research in Korea Institute of Science and Technology. Before beginning his tenure-track academic positions, he performed his postdoctoral training from 2006 to 2010 at Rice University (USA) and Georgia Institute of Technology (USA). He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Seoul National University in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology in 2005. His primary research interests include the development of nanoscale materials for redox-based treatment processes and comprehending of the underlying fundamental mechanisms. He has published more than 60 papers in top-international journals with the citation number of 2867 and h-index of 30.

Anthony Szymczyk is currently Full Professor of the University of Rennes 1 and the President of the European Membrane Society (https://www.emsoc.eu/ems/site/home/index.php). He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1999 at the University of Franche-Comté (France). Prof. Szymczyk's research lies at the interface of chemical engineering, chemistry of materials and physics of condensed matter. His main research activities focus on the modeling and simulation of membrane separations for desalination and water purification, and physico-chemical characterization of membrane materials with applications in functionalization, fouling, ageing, etc. He has published more than 140 top international papers and book chapters.
